White deck railing system with slim black aluminum balusters on a composite deck

Deck & Porch Railings in Charlotte, NC

Railings are the part of a deck you touch every day — and the part building inspectors look at first. We install railing systems that are safe, code-compliant, and sharp-looking.

What we do

We install composite railing systems with aluminum balusters (the white-rail, black-baluster look on most of our builds), classic wood railings, and metal systems — on decks, porches, stairs, and front entries.

Every install is built to code: correct height, baluster spacing under 4 inches, and posts anchored to structure — not just the decking. Wobbly railings are usually an anchoring problem, and we fix them properly.

Upgrading railings is also the fastest facelift an older deck can get: new rails and balusters transform the look for a fraction of a rebuild cost.

Common questions

My railing is wobbly — can it be fixed without replacing it?

Often, yes. Wobble usually means posts were fastened to deck boards instead of framing. We re-anchor posts into the structure with proper hardware. If the railing material itself has rotted, we'll quote a replacement.

What does code require for deck railings?

In North Carolina, decks more than 30 inches off the ground need guardrails at least 36 inches high, with openings under 4 inches. Stairs have their own handrail rules. Our installs meet code as standard.

Can I replace just the railings and keep my deck?

Absolutely — railing swaps are a common stand-alone project. New composite rails with aluminum balusters modernize an older wood deck instantly.
